Christian Skotte
Director of Audience and Growth
Christian Skotte is The 74鈥檚 Director of Audience and Growth where he oversees audience development, membership, and impact tracking efforts. He comes to The 74 with more than 15 years of experience working across audience, editorial, and product development teams at nonprofit and public media organizations. He served previously as the Director of Innovation and Growth at Grist, where he orchestrated a successful organizational rebrand and helped build the largest audience in the organization鈥檚 25-year history. He鈥檚 also helped steer national, state and local organizations as an independent consultant, redesigning audience and membership strategies across the country.
Christian is a former Reynolds Journalism Institute fellow and has overseen award-winning projects that have earned two Webby Awards, an Online Journalism Award, a W3 award, and a Society of Publication Designers best new website.
A native of Cowan, TN, where his mother worked as a public school elementary teacher, Christian is also a proud alumnus of Antioch College. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and child.
